Merry Christmas!

In my country the people start to celebrate the pseudo-Xmas some early each year, lets say half October, but I did to wait December's first day to get involved the nearer to Xmas Spirit, until it is possible to do these days, without fall down in modern excess or extreme traditionalism. So I want to take to this Blog through the next days some classic or folk song videoclips, or yet traditionals around this latitudes, and of course the new ones because its quality deserve to be here. I hope to share a little of the almost lost spirit you may find yet if you search it with open mind. To begin, a true classic of Xmas rock: This is "A Christmas Song" by the Great Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull!

Ian Anderson - A Christmas Song

Artist: Ian Anderson
Album: The Jethro Tull Christmas Album (2003)

A Christmas Song

Once in Royal David's City stood a lowly cattle shed,
where a mother laid her baby.
You'd do well to remember the things He later said.
When you're stuffing yourselves at the Christmas parties,
you'll laugh when I tell you to take a running jump.
You're missing the point I'm sure does not need making;
that Christmas spirit is not what you drink.

So how can you laugh when your own mother's hungry
and how can you smile when the reasons for smiling are wrong?
And if I messed up your thoughtless pleasures,
remember, if you wish, this is just a Christmas song.

Hey, Santa... pass us that bottle, will you?
